Which cool mat do you recommend?

Recommended Posts

Anyone has tried Dog Cooling Mat? It's getting hot in Texas and the dogs can use a little help cooling down after training. When not working, they are always in the kennel in my car, in the shade but with humidity, it's not so pleasant. In summer, I usually have fronzen bottles of water and throw them in there. If really hot, I just run the A/C for hours.

I found several brands. This one has crystals in it. I don't know how cool it stays outside.

Scotts Dog

And this one is a bit different.

Dog Gone Good

Another company

I can take a cooler full of ice and maybe leave the mat inside? I need it to stay cool for at least 3-4 hours.

Your suggestions and feedback are appreciated.

P.S. I tried to search cool mat... it doesn't let me search unless the word is longer than 4 (?)

These all look really cool. I had one years ago that was just a blue plastic mat filled with the crystals. Sophie, who is not generally destructive, either chewed or scratched a hole in it fairly quickly (like days). Maybe that was just bad luck, though. I'd like to try again, because two days of continued coolness sounds awesome!

Silver Eagle make ones that are a special fabric weave rather than crystals which are apparently very good. I don't know where you get them from in the States but they make human cool clothing as well. They also make dog coats.

ETA Here is a link for them. http://www.silvereagleoutfitters.com/shop/...Crate_Mat_B.htm
