  1. Oh my gosh, I missed this. I am so very sorry to hear this. Maybe another chance will come along for another good fit for your family.
  2. It is frustrating. I had some kid throw his arms around Keegan's neck and start aggressively hugging him. Luckily Keegan doesn't mind this but I told the mother exactly what I thought about that kind of behavior and that someone's dog would end up being put down because her kid doesn't know proper ettique in approaching a dog. She look astounded that I would say such a thing. We were on our way to take the dogs swimming.
  3. Well since she has a rough coat and those pesky airplane ears, I suppose she could come live with us. And a happy belated birthday to my Larky-poo... she's a sweetie! (who we will also make an exception for) (btw, this is Brian)
  4. That would be good to watch...too bad we don't get it.
  5. I can't wait to go. We unfortunately aren't bringing the dogs as they would have to fly and we don't want to risk taking them if we don't have to. Camping would be great and we love to camp; however, we are flying out there so space will be limited...we will probably try to find a hotel near by or just keep our cabin at Crater Lake for one more night. Smiley - we are staying here...http://www.craterlakeresort.com/ It is pretty inexpensive. Elizabeth - I will have to try to get up with you if you will be there.
  6. Hubby and I are going to Crater Lake, OR at the end of June. In my latest edition of the Working Border Collie, I saw a trial date of June 29-July 2 in Sprague River, OR. So I talked the hubby into staying near Crater Lake one extra day to watch the last day of the open trial in order to watch a double lift!!!! I'm so excited...it will be nice to watch a trial on the west coast and meet new people.
  7. Sending good vibes your way. It makes for a hard week when you are waiting for details!!!
  8. Happy Birthday Lark!!!! And just so you know, RDM, I'm first in line for Miss Lark AND Phoebe. I'm surprised my hubby hasn't stolen them yet!!!
  9. Yep...a big thumbs up to Julie as well since she let me bug her weekly last year and went out to dinner with me as well - I got to pick her brain. I do really enjoy the friendships I have made through this hobby. We can talk about dogs, girly stuff, and life in general - good stuff and good friends!!!!
  10. A dog will usually express when going to the bathroom...it is the "aftermath" of going #2. However, my dogs have issues with this usually. I think cats are generally the same way but I'm not sure. One of them might have gotten spooked and that is how it ended up on your bed. Take comfort that it didn't end up on you!!!! Little Raven that went to Alaska - well she got spooked in the airport and expressed on me - doesn't make for good company in the car on the way home!!!!
  11. I bet it was funny to witness had we been a fly on the wall. I've seen Becca half asleep in the middle of the night and it is entertaining!!!!
  12. Julie, Another thing to consider is jobs closer to where you are looking at land. Maybe you don't have the type of job that easy to find...or you have been at your current job a long time...but just something to consider. We have decided to put off looking for land for another year; however, my requirement is no longer than a 45 minute commute each way. Even though I have a husband who would possibly be available more than me, he does not want the responsibilities of sheep...so I would have to do the chores...until I can con him into it!!!! To me, 1 1/2 hours seems like a long way unless you could find a job closer.
  13. Becca - without meeting you...I wouldn't be where I am today. I know Laura feels the same way. We all appreciate your generosity.
