  1. We have feed Emma our BC Blue Wilderness going on 4 years with no issues. I have to say, she loves it, and we had a Lab we fed SD for the 13 years of her life and what a difference in the smell and amount of poop that came out of the Lab, but naturally she was a little bigger, but ate about the same amount of food and the Lab always had health issues. Good luck with your search for quality dog food.

  2. Here is her next reply and no they did not want a script.

(In Australia for example no RX is required to purchase Heartgard Plus.....Our Govt isn't manipulated by a large Drug Lobby forcing it's citizens to require a RX before purchasing this product. In Australia our citizens are given credit for having the good sense to be aware that their pet be tested and free of heartworm's before putting their pet at risk and administering this product.)

When I ordered the meds from PetcareRX they called the vet for a script and they denied it ,because they thought I was not giving Emma HGard Plus all year, but I had been giving her it 12 months out of the year with the last 6 month supply gotten from Petsupplyexpress.com which called for no script. So flags went off at the vets office and they wanted Emma to come in for a test before they would ok the shipment. Plus she was just tested 6-14-2011 for Lyme,HW and the two others that the test Snap 4 test checks for and that is when we found out she was positive for Lymne and has been treated and her last blood work only showed a 12 count.

  3. I'm not sure what you're asking? Most companies will require a prescription from the vet before allowing the purchase of HW meds.

Petsuppyexpress.com I have ordered from twice and they have never called for a prescription from vet that is the problem I am having and now the vet says because they never called for a script the violated law and I should go after them for dispensing meds without a script and now they have a new rule that every 18 months all dogs on HW med have to have the $37.00 test for Heart Warms which I never had done in the past 13 years with our other dog.

  4. We lost our Lab of 13 years this St patty's day of 2009 and I said the house was so cold after her passing and said to my wife lets get a border Collie. This not reading a book about them or anything finally found a breeder with a 1500 head of cattle with 15 working Collies and that is were our 1 year old Emma came from is she a working dog hell ya she works with me doing everything i do all day (disabled) but she has an off switch (go take a break) is what is said. I found these boards and the people and dog here are great they care and are concerned about the breed. I would get a Collie again in a minute smartest dog on the planet. Well that is the short version of our working dog, and I know she does not heard sheep but she does ants on the deck in the summer, and a pretty good jog with the cats, used to try people but broke her of that habit, she is not trained as well as i would like her to be at this age but i am disabled and was laid up for about 2 months of her life and not able to work with her, but finally better now and getting back in the training. Well you just have to love People and there Dogs , and God Bless.

  5. Our Black Lab had that happen to her but hers was bad enough for when the surgeon worked the knee he felt the give and new right away what it was, but took x-ray to confirm, cost us $1600.00 to have her fixed, but was well worth it she was stiff once in a while for her last 5 years of her life, till cancer of the elbow of the opposite rear leg finally took it toll on her life on this planet. Well good luck, we also gave her Chrondrotin and Glocusamine those last 5 years at the request of the surgeon.

  6. Emma and I will say a prayer for your Jin, I know how you feel I have had Emma walk in front of me and almost get her leg broken or make me fall on my head one to many times when she was from 8 weeks to maybe 10 weeks old Since then she has learned not to cross in front of me when we are working on the heal position. I am disabled also and it is hard to do the proper training from day to day feeling the pain I do in my lower back and left leg. I make the best of it and she is going on 7 months and is still a puppy and the way I look at it, we are always learning more about ourselves and our dogs every day as we train. God Bless

  7. Our Emma is going on 7 months and still waiting for the first heat cycle or we missed it at six months hard to tell if she had any discharge or swelling at this point in time. Get well soon Jett. We had a Black Lab before the BC and you are right they are hard to shoot pic of just have to have the right lighting and background and of course camera setting.

  8. Emma has been going outside since we got her within 2 wks of using pee pee pads and then moving the pee pee pad out side and using the command hurry up in a real low regular voice, at the same site every time and then, when she was a puppy at 8 wks every 2 hrs or sooner and an hour after eating and then say good poop or pee after going in the proper place. She was very smart and caught on very quickly. Now you ask her if she has to go out and she sort of talks to you with a play growl. She will be 5 months old tomorrow and still goes to the same spot to pee or poop, but she can hold it much longer and has long seen her pee pee pads even have a lot of then left because we thought we would need then, but they were not needed she just got it real good. First time at vets she had a pee accident when one tech would talk to her 2 times but after those 2 times she has been good. I have been trying to get a photo of her doing a paw stand when peeing but have not been able to get the shot yet. She picks her back feet off the ground and just stand on front paws.

  9. Yes I like off leach to, but were they cannot get into any trouble and that is a hard place to find even with my 8 acres of land. Example had a Rottie I trained from a puppy with the Air force military training dog guide with hand commands and the whole nine yards. She was very good at protection and off leach, except for one night I went next door to my mothers and coming out at night I let her out by my side and all i saw was her running to the middle of the road ( cat had gotten hit and was not dead but moving around in the middle of road and she saw this) which was 75 feet from the front door no time to do a recall with car coming up the road at 45 to 50 MPH so I myself almost gets hit going to the dog and mouthing to the car coming don't hit the dog.

  10. Someone suggested getting a child's sandbox with a cover and instruct the dog to dig only in the sand box for bones, toys etc. I myself am making sure I do not leave my Emma unsupervised and tell her, no when she starts to dig anywhere in the yard. She has a favorite thing, she digs for is rabbit turds in the yard, which I am trying to brake her from eating. Other then that she is responding to the training to no do not dig in the yard or using command, look at this and take her mind to another place of interest. Left alone she would be digging by now if we let her,but not letting it get started in her mind helps as far as I think.

  11. Ya I am Emma dad and i joked I never wiped so much p---y in my life, but on the other side, the vet says that after her first heat the uterus will tilt and this vaginitis should take care of itself, and then she can be spayed. I do not know of any male dogs in our area, but that does not mean they cannot come out of the woodwork. We own 8 acres of woods, grass ,and mountain. I guess walks at the park or the walking trail could bring on problems with male dogs. Well will have to wait and see what happens, I have had 4 females in my life but never had one go through heat cycle so i probably will be in for a treat. Thanks for all the help.

  12. Vaginitis, our puppy Emma has this condition since we got her, we use unscented baby wipes after she pee-pee's to keep her area clean, and the vet has recommended waiting till after her first heat cycle to spayed her, has any one else gone through this problem. The 24th of this month she is 5 months old, and he said it varies when they go into heat the season has an effect on the cycle he say and I have also read that it could be anywhere from 6 to 11 months until first cycle.
